Welcome to the Nashville Elite Fencing Club (NEFC)! Whether you have met us at a tournament, come for an intro lesson, or experienced fencing through a camp, everyone is excited that you would like to contine your journey in fencing with us.
NEFC prides itself on the development of youth and collegiate fencers from those taking their very first advances in the sport to national champions and beyond. Our greatest strength as a club is the sense of community among the fencers and the family; we are glad that you will become a new part of that strength. As you progress in your fencing journey, always feel welcome to ask any questions that you have to Coach Young or to other familes; everyone will be eager to help you learn more about fencing. Before you know it, you too will be an ambassador for fencing. As you get started, we have tried to provide some steps here that you can take to engage with NEFC, your fellow fencers, and the sport.
To keep up to date on happenings at NEFC, make sure to join our facebook group. You can find the group by searching for Nashville Elite Fencing Club or find it here:
https://www.facebook.com/groups/nashvilleelitefc
The group is private so you will need to ask to join; let coach or another family know if you can't find it.
If you are looking for more in depth information about fencing, you can find a lot of information here on the forum:
Key early information that you may find helpfel includes an overview of the NEFC curriculum
You may also be interested in an overview of how to buy equipment. All of your initial equipment needs will be provided by Coach Young until you are ready to take the step of purchasing your own. Definitely consult with Coach before you commit to a purchase. Getting your first gear is important, exciting, and fun as you become more involved in fencing and looking at gear can help you learn a bit more about how it all functions. There is a post on equipment here:
Another absolutely required step is for your fencer to become a member of USA fencing. This is a major component of how the club is insured. You will have had a intro membership if this is your first lesson or camp but those only last for two weeks. To register for a USA Fencing membershop, go to the member website below. At the beginning you only have to have a non-competitive membership, which you can upgrade later when you are ready to compete.

We are so excited that you are at the club! We can't wait to see your growth in the sport.
